How the Insights system has been used to help individuals, teams and organizations become more effective

 

Company A         Large Global Pharmaceutical Company

Required a model that would be suitable for the whole of their sales force to improve Sales. Now all their sales training is Insights based and for 10,000 salespeople worldwide Insights is mandatory. In the last 9 months some 6,000 Reports have been produced.

 

Company B         Retail Sales Company, part of Major Leisure Group

Required Leadership training for 70 managers to enhance other training already conducted. Within the Adair Model of Team, Task and Individual, other training covered the last two elements but it was felt that additional work was needed on the Team aspect. A 3-day workshop was devised – The True Colours Leadership Workshop – that introduced Insights but cemented the knowledge with a 24-hour exercise. The impact of the workshops has been lasting.

 

Company C         Large Public Services Company

Required a series of workshops to explore Team Dynamics. The Insights formula was found to be effective in enabling team members to address issues in a non-confrontational way.

Insights Discovery Reports are used on their Executive Coaching program. Their experience is that the Reports are the best vehicle for Self Development that they have come across. This for two reasons: first that the Coaches can better understand the differences between themselves and their charges. This enables their interaction to be more focussed. Secondly that the Report is self contained and can be understood easily.

Use Insights at all levels to Recruit and Train Salespeople. Insights Discovery Recruiting Reports are used as part of the recruiting process. Research with this company has shown that salespeople can be successful at any point round the Insights Wheel. On the training side for some of the salespeople, despite long service, it is the first training they have had on their most important commodity – their clients.

Re-launch of an important planning team (some 60 strong) charged with the need to bring the organisation into the 21st Century. It was essential that the re-defined team got off to a flying start. The answer was a 2-day Away-Day – an Insights intervention with        Team Challenges, together with Strategic Planning.

Required some Leadership training that included Physically Demanding Outdoors Activity. The combination of Insights and outward-bound type work gave more meaning to the outside activities.

The area was experiencing huge redundancies from a number of employers. The Insights system was employed to run courses on Personal Effectiveness and Unlocking Your Potential to help those affected improve their self-esteem.

 As part of a 15-day management development programme they included a section on Leading People Through Change. This included a day on aspects of Stress. Both these areas, Change and Stress, have to be considered with reference to employee’s preferences. Insights enables delegates to understand why different people react differently in these situations.

Insights was used to develop manager’s skills in terms of understanding the   Learning Styles of their team members and how to give appropriate feedback.
